Rediscovering Chicago Through the Lens: Amy Boyle's Photographic Adventures Post-Medill Graduation
Graduation ceremonies and back to work
Hard to believe I’ve been home for three weeks. To be honest it’s been a bit of a blur. After completing my Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications graduation ceremonies in Chicago earlier this month, I'm back to work with renewed enthusiasm.
The weekend of the ceremonies were marked by relentless wind and rain on Sunday and then sunshine and Governor JB Pritzker on Monday. It remained a heartwarming affair with the company of my cherished family and friends.
As I embark on my final academic quarter, I am eager to complete my Master's project while diligently balancing my professional commitments. My photography business has picked up, and I am a grateful for a variety of projects, including portrait sessions, capturing corporate headshots, and documenting captivating moments in theater productions.
Recently, I had the privilege of photographing the 4th annual "NF Hope Concert" and the wildly talented cast of "Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story" at the Marriott Theatre. The dynamic atmosphere and the passion of the performers made my photography experience all the more rewarding.
Despite the adjustment of managing both my academic pursuits and professional responsibilities, I find so much support in my friends, family, and colleagues who continue to inspire and uplift me.
As I return to the bustling streets of Chicago (traffic is no joke!), I am determined to make the most of this phase of my life, seizing every opportunity to grow both as a photographer and as a journalism professional. My time at Medill has equipped me with invaluable skills and a passion for storytelling that I will carry with me throughout my career in all of its iterations.
With the support of my loved ones and the lessons I've learned, I am even more ready to embrace the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.
Much more later!
